A steel worker union official asked President Barack Obama at a June 1 town hall in Elkhart, Indiana, about job losses at a plant run by Carrier, an air conditioning manufacturer that recently announced plans to move jobs from Indiana to Mexico. He replied that some jobs "are just not going to come back," while others are in flux or rebounding. Well worth the watch, just for the automation anxiety:
He's right, and even more are going to be gone soon due to increased automation. Interesting times we live in.
There are a lot of new opportunities too!
It's kind of good that some of our jobs are going overseas, I mean it gives people who may not have the opportunity to have a job, Get one. We can find other things to do. I really like the James Altucher Podcast, Also the Freakonomics podcast. He talks about the possible future of our jobs.
