RE: America's Growing Dependency on Imported Petroleum
Further more The reserves of Venezuela, Mexico and Nigerya are estimated up to 114 billion barels of oil, which makes 11% of worlds oil reserves.
The government of my country always uses the excuse that we have 300 billion barrels of petroleum underground, and that the US government wants to lay hands on it, to justify all the economic disaster they have done.
However, there has been no truly forceful action by the United States towards Venezuela, because although there have been a few sanctions, among other things, none of these actions are really significant, in fact, if Venezuela were counted on a moderately good administration I could take much advantage of the global advantage represented by having oil in such large quantities.
