Use of smart tools in real time

In the future, traffic enforcement will no longer need officers stopping you, a look will be enough to supervise, future for us because the Shangshha traffic police in China has already made technology available for its frontline officers, who are already using smart glasses with artificial intelligence for real-time vehicle inspections.

The equipment was adopted by the traffic management detachment of the Municipal Department of Public Security and is being used directly on the streets on a non-experimental basis. At first glance, the lenses seem ordinary, but they integrate a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a stabilization system that keeps the image sharp even when the officer is walking or in heavy traffic.

Automation at another level

The information appears on a small screen within the field of vision, allowing people to continue moving, the battery guarantees up to 8 hours of continuous use covering a full shift. The key point is the automatic license plate recognition, which also works offline with an accuracy of over 99%, delivering results in less than a second.

As soon as the vehicle is identified, the glasses connect to the public safety database and display registration, inspection status and violation history almost instantly, with this, the verification time dropped to just one or 2 seconds, in addition, the system includes facial recognition, real-time voice translation in more than 10 languages and video recording for law enforcement.

The result is faster inspection, without physical contact, with less stress for agents and greater precision in interventions, it is automation entering directly into the human visual field, it is technology used as another form of surveillance in urban space, I don't see it as bad, those who walk straight should not worry unless the rulers change.

But if we think about it this way, surveillance would be the least of the problems, because it seems that things are changing very radically.
