Bicycles Through Big Sur

Joe and Maura were headed up from Malibu on patched-together bicycles, on their way to San Francisco. Just carrying backpacks and nothing else. We met them in Big Sur and had lunch together, shared a few beers and a smoke along the river there. They had been together for seven years at the time and loved their lifestyle. Said they felt totally freed from the trappings of success!
