SLC30-W1 | “Potato Magic Challenge” : Potato Snack / Potato chop

Making Process

Step 1:

I took enough water in a pan on the stove to boil the potatoes, added the sliced ​​potatoes to the water and boiled them well on medium heat. I cooked the potatoes for about 10 minutes until they were well cooked.

Step 2:

Once the potatoes are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them cool. Once they have cooled down a bit, peel the potatoes and mash them with a slotted spoon. Mash the potatoes thoroughly so that no whole potatoes remain.

Step 3:

At this stage, I added fried onions, salt to taste, chili flakes, chili powder, and mustard oil to the mashed potatoes. Then, I mixed everything very well with my hands to prepare the potato filling for making potato chops.

Step 4:

Now I applied a little oil to my hands so that it wouldn't stick to my hands, then I took a potato filling equal to the amount needed to make a potato chop and rolled it into a round shape, then pressed it flat. In the same way, I shaped all the potato fillings into chops.

Step 5:

I took 1 cup of gram flour in a mixing bowl, added half a cup of rice flour to the gram flour, and a little salt, then stirred everything together. After mixing, I added chili powder, turmeric powder, and baking soda to the gram flour mixture. Once everything was added, I stirred all the dry ingredients together and mixed them well.

Step 6:

After mixing all the dry ingredients, I will make a gram flour mixture by stirring it with normal temperature water. While making gram flour dough, water should not be added at all, so water should be added little by little and stirred. The dough should not be too thin or too thick, the consistency of gram flour should be medium. Finally, I added ginger paste and stirred it again, now the gram flour dough is ready.

Step 7:

I let the oil heat up in a pan on the stove, when the oil becomes medium hot, I dipped the prepared potato patties in the gram flour batter, coated them well and dropped them in the hot oil. I dropped two to three patties in the oil at a time. Then when the potato chops swelled and got a nice color, I drained the oil. I fried all the potato patties in the oil in the same way.

Final presentation

Now the hot potato chops are ready to serve. I tried to give it an attractive look by spreading fried onions and green chilies on top. These are very delicious, hot and spicy potato chops to eat.
