Holi is one of the holiest festivals celebrated by the Hindus all over the world. The most popular legends associated with this festival suggest the victory of good over evil along with the end of winter and the start of warmer days.

For celebrating, a raging bonfire is worshipped as Hindus perform holy rituals before it. This day is called Holika Dahan. The following day is called Dhulandi, the most anticipated day by Indians all around the world. On the second day, people celebrate by wilding colouring each other with Gulal, and sometimes, stronger colours. They fill water balloons and water guns and soak each other in different vibrant colours.

The people of Harbin make the most of the bitterly cold winds that blow over from Siberia by celebrating this festival for a whole month.

Being the most extensive snow and ice festival in the world, the Harbin festival features the most stunning ice sculptures and carvings made from large (2-3 foot) blocks of ice. These sculptures are open to public viewing at night where these sculptures are illuminated with beautiful lights, a feast for your eyes.
