Movies : A Prepper Discussion

in #preparedness5 years ago

What movies can you watch for the prepper perspective?

There was a Tweet by Happy Preppers linking to their List of Movies for Preppers - 101 Top Movies for Preppers.

From the alien apocalypse to zombie apocalypse, below you'll find 101 of the top movies (or made for television movies, documentaries and series) just for preppers. These are for your entertainment and while you may learn a little, it's important to consider that this is fictional fun or Hollywood interpretation of actual combat situations or survival, it's not the real deal.

The title is a bit misleading, because a lot of things on their list are TV series, limited run series or specials. And, I wouldn't consider all of them "prepper" movies. To me, a prepper movie would have to deal with a Shit Hit the Fan (SHTF) event or a bigger The End Of The World As We Know It (TEOTWAWKI) event. On top of just having that event, there should be parts of the story showing that the characters prepared or did not prepare for the possibly of the event happening. Granted, this makes for a fairly broad range of stories, but it can be narrowed down and maybe somebody should narrow it down.

One of the most obvious prepper movies is The Road(2009). Not only does it deal with life during an event happening, but life once a person decides they have to get out of their current situation and hit the road and find resources and a safe place to be. The movie is dark and dreary and does not have a happy ending. But, none the less, is a great prepper movie and probably should be top on any list.

I have done some "A Prepper Discussion" reviews of several movies and a TV show. I linked them below in the list. The list I am providing is of the movies I have watched that are from Happy Prepper's list and others that they did not include. I won't say that these are all prepper movies, but I am using someone else's list. I also won't say that they are all good movie, because a lot of them are poor quality. Frankly, I created this post to have this list and maybe when I have the time, I could go back and create a good list of prepper movies and give reviews of the movie and do a prepper discussion on them.

If there are movies that you have watched that might be considered prepper movies and that are not on this list, make a comment about it.

Hey.... where’d you go ?

Hey.... where’d you go ? I found a new way to earn more Curation rewards.... I set http://www.steemvoter.com to upvote some new writers with great content that are getting lots of upvotes. Upvote at the 5 minute mark. I’m getting about 15 Steem from Curation Rewards a week on auto pilot.

Kind of got bored with Steem and crypto in general.

Steem is at $0.14 today. I think that's what it was at when I started.

Yeah ...Steem is low. Bitcoin still up around 8 k.... old fashioned fiat cash is king. Earning $300/mo on Hideout.TV with random videos I upload there.

That's awesome.
I couldn't get much traction with my garden videos.

I was hoping to get more motivated this year on creating videos, but those plans didn't really happen.

Yeah... for motivation I go on adventures with my kids and we a make movies to post to Hideout.tv ... so they are earning about $50 /month and we are out there exploring, being creative and earning some extra $$$$ .... we all have cheap iPods, film short movies, edit with iMovie, add music with YouTube copyright free music, upload to YouTube and convert to MP4 to upload to Hideout.TV

If you make a few short 1 minute nature, gardening, prepped videos I can help you get on Hideout TV and earning a few hundred each month ...
