Cyber War is Drama. Drama is the touchstone for reporting. We have to look well around this stone that is certain so that you can catch a reasonable impression of the virtual. We must look around it even to understand what cyber war is or how it’s defined.

Hyperbole & metaphor are the the guidelines rather than the exception when talking about cyber war. Cyber this, cyber that – you might have noticed the virtual world is inhabited by nouns and verbs taken from the material world and that images of cyber issues in the news tend to have dramatic photos of bodily issues rather compared to the electrons that make up the cyber-world. Images of coins inhabit tales for example BitCoin, of cryptocurrency that is purely digital. Physics journals, where readers really are interested in the electrons along with the z of the cyber realm, are the exception to the rule.

But when we read tales of cyber war, we see pictures of troopers, fire-arms, and materials accompanying the tale. When we study of the folks sitting at desks and computers to figure out just how to hack and maybe not be hacked, we call them Cyber Warriors and photos of guys in flak jackets and helmets accompany these tales. I wonder what Cyber Item will likely be combined with pictures of tanks and bombers.

Aside from the remarkable illustrations and pictures, what’s Cyber War? Albert Einstein famously stated, “You can not simultaneously stop and prepare for war.” Let us hope that in the case of Cyber-War, he was incorrect.
