Digestive System And Mental Health !??

in #probiotic8 years ago

So, it's been quite a long time and here's my first post. Now I'll write about an interesting subject which is also based on my experiences. As I told in my intoduction post, I have some mental issues that I've been struggling for such a time. I'm trying to read a lot about it- and sometimes I'm running across some really interesting themes.

This is one of them.

Researches has verified that your digestive sytem and your brain has a connection. (what??:) It's such connection that even some scientists are calling the digestive tract as the 'second brain'.
The digestive tract is really sensitive to stress, sadness, anxiety and excitement. When you have this kind of feelings, it's turning off itself and having a 'run away' mode on. bagirsak.jpg

So what now?

We have to increase the useful bacterias in our system. Psychologically, some kind of therapies (like cognitive behavioral therapy ) or some hypnosis techniques may help. Also food which's rich from useful bacterias (there's an important difference between probiotics and prebiotics-we need them both) is the most powerful helper.

As a vegan, of course I'm not using the advice "the best probiotic source is cow milk yoghurt", well. It's possible to make your own probiotic yoghurt from almond, soy or rice etc. milks. Also homemade vinegars/pickles, or the probiotic tablets (vegan ones) helps a lot. Give a chance to them, you'll see the difference on your mood in a short time.!
