Solve Interesting Problems

Day 20 - 0$ made, 0 events held, 0 products designed, 0 twerkflows made. Still more than 5 months away from my first event at this point of year 1. I was looking into alternate methods of paying vendors in countries where it's hard to move money into and out of.

Day 385 - $7,863 made, 20 events held, 6 products designed, 46 twerkflows made. The day after my 20th - recapping what worked and what fell flat so that I can improve for future events.

I never run out of problems that need to be solved. Water is wet.Gary Busey is awesome. And I will never get off the cosmic treadmill of problemas. I have come to accept these things. But with any luck since I've created an interesting business, dreaming up the way I solve my problems will be the thing that challenges me and not just the time and effort it takes to actually solve it.

In fact, I use the type of problems I encounter as a measure of my company's health. If I'm running into the same problem over and over again it means I'm not thinking clearly. Not anticipating the routine needs of my business.

Say if I was to hire an assistant, my main focus for them would be to constantly remove the bottom 50% of my most routine and consuming tasks. As those tasks are changing and becoming more difficult, they are getting better and better at being my replacement. While I am freed up to tackle whatever new issue is weaving it's way into my top 50% of tasks.

While I don't have an assistant I think of templates and workflows as the placeholder for this role. Email I am going to write more than once - template. Ad that I'm going to through up on a website more than once - template. 5 website and 5 real-life locations I gotta hit with my flyers - process doc.

I solve these routine problems once, so that I can spend 90% of my time dealing with whatever new and challenging problem is headed my way trying to take me out.
