RE: Shooting a commercial in Vienna
Honestly, shooting in the First District (Innere Stadt) is a nightmare if you don't have a local fixer. The permit process for blocking streets takes weeks and the bureaucracy in Austria is no joke, very strict rules on timings and noise. You definitely shouldn't try to DIY this if you are coming from abroad.
For a car commercial, you need a serious team that knows the police and municipality guys. I worked with a Vienna production company called ORBIS Production last year. They handled our location management and permits smoothly, plus they have their own Arri gear which saved us rental hassle. They are super pro with high-end commercials.
What kind of camera setup are you planning to bring?
Thanks for the heads up, that is exactly what I was afraid of regarding the permits. We definitely don't have weeks to figure out the paperwork ourselves so outsourcing this makes total sense. We are planning to shoot on Alexa Mini LF, so it is great to hear they have proper gear available locally.
