Today, The Lords of Hemp world premiere. Plus, Syrian Death Trap, Russia; It’s the Economy Stupid, and Trump Dance Defense.

Big welcome to our 800 new subscribers for this special edition of West Coast Milblogger. I’m your host Cyrus Emerson.

First, I’d like to introduce myself, I’m a veteran of the United States Navy having served three-years onboard the aircraft carrier USS Kittyhawk. My lone mission, to monitor the no-fly zone in Iraq during a six-month WestPac.

That’s why I’m the West Coast Milblogger, unlike fellow YouTubers Combat Vet Paul and Jake Broe, both having distinguished military careers; my experience as a flunky from the post-Vietnam era hippy movement joining the establishment helps inform my writing with the Hemp Revolution at the forefront. All other conflicts are seen as a product of this never-ending war.

I’d also like to make it clear, I write this entire blog every week without AI. AI is only used for the video and audio production of this podcast also available on YouTube, Rumble, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, and many other audio podcast platforms.

Syrian Death Trap.

Explain some reasons behind latest Syrian offensive and possible impact moving forward.

West Coast Milblogger continues to monitor developments in Syria where independent rebel forces have surged against Assad’s official Syrian government troops back by Russia and Iran.

These rebels are not associated with Turkey, fighting along the border. Or the United States, helping the Kurds. These jihadists are more akin to Taliban fighting for a Syrian nation.

While battles this week could be described as lightly armored advances taking the city of Aleppo, with its more than two-million residents, using small arms; it’s also true Syrian government soldiers were caught off-guard, retreating to regroup.

One reason for the push back, less Russian forces in the area because of the war in Ukraine. Russian Commanders have already been replaced as the aggressive nation uses airpower to intimidate the roughly 10-thousand rebels. This makes plain the burden of the conflict on the Kremlin this last week after one of The Putins was embarrassed in Kazakhstan, a Turkish leaning culture.

It’s also important to note, Donald Trump ordered a strike on Assad’s Syrian regime while he was POTUS because of chemical weapon use. This occurred hours after a meal with visiting President Xi in Florida.

Looking forward, Syria could be a death trap for Russia because of its non-NATO and non-nuclear nature, preventing The Putins an opportunity to escalate.

Russia; It’s the Economy Stupid.

Share how the devaluation of Russia’s currency is shattering its standing in the world while grinding its military to a halt.

This last week the Russian economy tanked into the red with a freefall in the value of its currency. As if it weren’t bad enough to call KIA soldiers MIA - simply to deny benefit payments - while simultaneously creating a backlog in inheritance cases. Now, money’s worthless even in Moscow.

Oligarchs are being ruined, contemplating jumping from buildings in mass. Ordinary laborers can only buy domestic items being artificially manipulated by corrupt officials. Meanwhile, high-end foreign electronics filling trendy shopping malls this Christmas, now worth their weight in gold literally, because gold is the only currency in Russia right now.

Ukraine has been hitting oil depots hard with domestically produced drones. Adding in short-range US, UK, and French missiles recently is aiding to the exploitation of vulnerabilities in the largest nation on the globe. While at the same time, natural gas exports to Europe have ended.

Even trade with China is becoming more difficult as the Chinese demand more for less. It’s only in poor economies like North Korea and Iran where the Russians maintain an advantage.

As the spiral of horrendous economic news mounts this holiday season, the Kremlin is going to find it impossible to add labor, while current working-class people could finally revolt unable to live without a paycheck this winter. Money separates ethnic Russians from foreign labor Russians in the factory and frontline.

Trump Dance Defense.

Tell West Coast Miblogger fans how incoming White House leadership is already making music around the world before inauguration day.

While The Putins are fuming Trump’s dancing to a different drum. Many accuse the former and future President of being too close to the Kremlin. It might be true that moderate Russian leaders see 45 and 47 as a friend in need, as a friend indeed.

Yet Trump’s friendship with the richest man in the world seems to be the breath of fresh air the global village really needs right now. As WCM has reported before, Mars colonization remains the greatest pursuit of Democratic nations during the recent epoch of thermal nuclear threats.

To this end, SpaceX continues its test flights of the new Starship capable of landing men and munitions anywhere in the world at speeds military planners are unable to prepare for at this time. Musk’s also made comments on demoting the F-35’s role in air domination while the fighter jet of our time continues to fly in the sky despite recent Chinese attempts to rival its exports.

Musk sees what’s happening in Ukraine as a sign of drones becoming a replacement for future weapon aviation. With the added value of AI its easy to see why. However, his biggest adversary in this modernization of air power could be the pilots themselves unable to move from the cockpit to an armchair. Unless, Musk can offer them jobs flying spaceships.

I know you’ve all been waiting for The Lords of Hemp sizzle reel world premiere. This screenplay has been in the works since 2008. I had just finished a NANOWRIMO the year before while living on the Mojave. I’d just started a new job in Chino, California, that March working for a digital signage company called Corn Digital. The original story written for Script Frenzy, in April of 2008.

The problem with crafting this potential winner of the 2025 NRDC Climate Storytelling Fellowship being no examples to draw from with Hemp being federally illegal at the time. Yet as the years went on, I discovered Bruce Perlowin and his company Hemp, Inc. adding realism to this myth. Even with Federal Legalization in 2018, Hemp environment technological breakthroughs remain under threat by the same person who legalized: Trump.
