THE BIRTH OF A NEW COMMUNITY IN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, OWERRI
Hello Steemians, this is @prechi, a potential Steemit Ambassabor who have been spreading the Steemit gospel everywhere.
After my first successful Steemit Reach-out, I have come up with various Ideas in promoting the Steemit platform, some of which are the social media promotion and outreach.
Yesterday being 2nd of February 2018, I was opportuned to organize another seminar (The Birth of a New Steemit Community) in the Federal University of Technology Owerri, in Imo State Nigeria, with the help of @sussan, @tony-duke, and @arcjen02.
Prior to the seminar day, I created a Facebook page, Futo Steemit Community so as to promote the page in areas associated with the university as well as a Promoted Post which carries a brief explanation about steemit and have been able to reach over 3,800 people and a page like of 100+
We also did a class room to class room seminar invitation to let students know that what we wanted to teach them is real and not some online random program.
We came up with topics to be taught during the seminar, they are;
Introduction to Steemit: What is steemit and how does it works
Steemit Rules
Getting Started: introductory post, steemit tags
Advanced Steemit Knowledge: what is steem, steem power and steem dollars, how to improve your posts with steemit markdown, difference between steem, steem dollars and steem power, Reward payout Computation, Difference between voting power and steem power
Techniques to become successful on Steemit
and I also made a Steemit post on it as you can see HERE
Details of the full event
First, we have me doing the oral tutorial on Introduction to Steemit and we have questions coming in such as, what is blockchain?, how does Steemit make their money? and some other random questions which were equally answered to their satisfaction.
Next we have @sussan teaching on Getting Started: introductory post, steemit tags which gained attention and lots of questions were asked like how can someone earn on Steemit? what can a user post on steemit? etc which were also brilliantly answered by @sussan and led to further understanding.
It was time for @tony-duke and @arcjen02 to teach on Advanced Steemit Knowledge: what is steem, steem power and steem dollars, how to improve your posts with steemit markdown, difference between steem, steem dollars and steem power, Reward payout Computation, Difference between voting power and steem power

Then we made use of the laptop and projector to show them round Steemit and show them what we've been talking orally and it was so interesting because they were seeing it as we were teaching them.
Then finally, I came up to show them how to do the registration process using the laptop as you can see below;

The Seminar ended up being successful and a bigger one coming up which will see some other Steemians from different places in Nigeria coming for the event.
See more pictures from the event below;
Other Steemians present at the event are @masterpiz, @mikefrancis, @faves, @danielphosa, @davyd
A Whatsapp group was also created to help newbies who already started the registration processes and we already have up to 35 participants.
Stay tuned for the next big event.
Thanks so much for reading and supporting my work in anyway possible, and thanks to the team @sussan @tony-duke @arcjen02 for putting up such a great event.
I remain @prechi
Daddy yo!!!
Kudos to you and other brains behind the birth of Steemit in FUTO..
Preach Steem..
#Proudly a steemian
yeah yeah..its what I do. I'll make sure we see it through
I personally admire people who take it as a priority to introduce steemit to other people even though this community is not like a network place where you get to introduce people and gain monetarily for introducing them. Steem on bro
Thanks bro. It's what I'm dedicated to
Awesome. Resteemed
Thanks! great work you are doing too
