Proverbial #10: Charity won’t make you poor, just as being stingy won’t make you rich
This world is simple but the living things in it makes it complex. While some people gather wealth of the majority and keep for their 10th generations, others are living in penury.
Some people have good hearts and they can give their last dime to others and some know how to keep their wealth for whatever reason known to them. What some of those who keep things to themselves or their families don't know is that we are all connected in one way or the other. One way or the other, one life affects the other whether positively or negatively.
Africans believe that you can never be poor by giving out charity. The belief of the Yoruba people of Nigeria is that givers hands are always on top. If you seek for my help, for instance, and i decided to help you, as the giver, the hand (s) i will stretch out to help you will be on top. For this reason, they believe that givers will always prosper.
I am yet to see where someone who gives or help people becomes poor. They always get what they give back in one way or the other. This perhaps obeys the law of nature that you get what you give.
On the other hand, a stingy man is not only stingy to people but also to himself. For the Yoruba people, they believe that a stingy man does not 'enjoy himself' and those around him cannot also benefit from him.
If you have seen a stingy person, he/she will rather starve than to buy good cloths or shoes. They term almost everything a waste of money. When you look at their lifestyles, you will wonder what they will use the money for.
Can you save money that will make you become rich? Is it possible to become rich from just saving money? Like i said above, we are all connected in one way of the other.
Instead of keeping the little you have, why not use it and impact lives positively. Your positive impact on people's lives matters more than the impact you will have on yourself ordinarily.
A world where importance is placed on the well being of others and at the same time that of individuals should preferred to one where only you matters. If you are stingy, you will equally suffer from your stinginess.
The proverb is simply preaching generosity, act of kindness and humility. We are not equal and we were practically not 'created' equally. Be generous and help those who truly need your help.
Thanks for reading my blog. Your boy @smyle the philosopher.

Someone told me recently that if you watch carefully, you will observe that those people who go to any length to accumulate wealth for themselves and unborn generations end up having wayward(s) as children and they will eventually loose everything in just few years.
lols! This is really funny but true!
The term "Currency" is derived from the word "Current", which is sinonimous with "Flow".
Therefore currency is meant to constantly be on the flow. People that try to "cage" currency by way of stinginess or hurding, are going against this law of "flowing" and are bound to lose the possession of it sooner or later. This is a natural principle.
Thanks @smyle for this lovely topic.
