RE: Why Aren't We More Compassionate?
I think most people are probably good in intention yet we become lost, we are bombarded daily by media and money pressures and responsibilities and propaganda that pushes us in a certain direction, some of us are able to rebel against it and some of us find we cannot, to a certain extent being a good person comes down to strength of character, if you are strong enough inside you can still be kind and good even if your own life is hard and tough, many people don't even have the strength to be kind when they have a good and easy life, I do know one thing, until we all learn to value kindness over status, we as a people will never be free.
Nice Post :-)

I agree with everything you say except that I would replace the word "strength" with "knowledge, skills, understanding". Think about it for a moment - how many people are really taught how to effectively deal with their emotions, or with challenges? Very few. Most people are learning how to cope in dysfunctional ways from the people in their lives.
This is very true, the overall disconnect with out emotions separates us all as a people, humans are all so thought based now but it makes us so divided, when we feel we are more connected as a species, perhaps that is the key to future change, feeling, not thinking.
