This is a terrific article. This is the good kind of armchair psychology where you are showing how someone has suffered rather than condemning them for being messed up. I like how you have maintained an open mind all the way through, not forcing any conclusion, but inviting the reader to consider the possible connections. Nice job!
Interesting coincidence. I would say that the difference between what I wrote here and the agenda of some of the psychiatrists mentioned in that article is that I in no way attempted to diagnose SK with any supposed mental illness. A look at my previous posts and YouTube channel will demonstrate that I am incredibly skeptical with regards to the field of psychiatry. The main purpose of my focus on King's life was to highlight some of the experiences he has had and how they might relate to his adult life. And what others may be able to learn from those things. Lastly, this kind of information is not something I would ordinarily go digging for. But in this case, SK had already volunteered to share a lot of personal information via his memoir.
Thanks for sharing, razvanelulmarin. Personally, I really like King's notion of writing as telepathy.
'It’s an eight. This is what we’re looking at, and we all see it. I didn’t tell you. You didn’t ask me. I never opened my mouth and you never opened yours. We’re not even in the same year together, let alone the same room … except we are together. We’re close. We’re having a meeting of the minds.'
I really like your writing and all the information about Stephen King. I gave you an upvote, but your SD went down from 8.70 to 8.69. Does anyone understand that phenomena and can please explain it to me ???
I used Google Translate to translate your comment. Here's what I got:
'Stephen King is quite good psychologist of our time. When in due time I really sat down to his books , and to this day I do not regret what they have read . I think I have greatly changed world view , I began to understand many new things about what previously could not guess. As for me , Stephen King , writing and understandable at the same time , and in another , and not so. I would say not a simple reader . I had been in his lectures , then the ear probably would not have perceived it, it's easier when the text is in front of me .'
I think I get the gist of what you're trying to communicate. Thanks a lot for sharing. I guess I have to ask, though, did you read my post in English and understand it or did you use translation software to read it?

Thanks for your feedback and support.
just to be a bit of devil's advocate here. I literally read this on NPR earlier today:
http://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2016/08/13/489807468/psychiatrists-reminded-to-refrain-from-armchair-analysis-of-public-figures
Have a nice weekend! ;)

That's how I see it as well. You did absolutely well piecing the puzzle together, without any speculation, and straight from the source!
The devil's advocate's interjection will be ignored.
On writing is maybe my favorite book...on writing :) this quote is always in my mind when I write:
Books are a uniquely portable magic.”

another good one. In fact, one of my writing teachers began his famous workshop with this one " What is writing? telepathy! "

I'm pretty new around here so I'm not sure, either. Maybe one of the Steemit vets can explain.
Nice post. With a name like mine, it's good to know some more little tidbits about him.
Haha, now I just want to ask if it's your real name or if you're just a fan of his work.
It's my real name. I get the, "when is your next book coming out?" and similar comments a lot.
