PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya, Tbk as the minimarket retail manager Alfamart urged the suppliers to immediately review the price of goods after the decline in fuel prices as of January 1, 2015 yesterday by the Government. When suppliers lower prices, then retailers will reduce the price so that consumers benefit.

Corporate Affairs Director Alfamart Solihin said the government policy related to fuel price determination is very influential on the selling price of goods in his shop.

"When the announcement of fuel price hike on November 18, 2014 by President Jokowi, the suppliers have raised prices ranging from 5-7%. When the price of fuel is decreased, we urge the producers and suppliers to also reduce prices, so that minimarket managers can come down the selling price for consumers."

According to him, the decline in prices will not be directly proportional to the decline in fuel prices. For example, if BBM currently drops 11.85% (from Rp 8,500 to Rp 7,600 per liter), the store's price can not decrease linearly by 11.85% as well.

"In essence, we will also make adjustments, the company welcomes the policy, the impact is quite positive for the company. We can significantly reduce operating expenses. Our hope in the future, basic electricity tariff (TDL) will also be corrected, "he added..

As we know the Government has raised the price of subsidized fuel on November 18, 2014 of Rp 2,000 per liter (from Rp 6,500 to Rp 8,500 per liter or 30.77%), as of January 1, the government cut back Rp 900 (from Rp 8,500 to Rp 7,600 per liter or 11.84%).
