FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY: PUTO CHEESE
Hello steemians. Making my very own puto cheese. Puto (Steamed Cake with Cheese) is a traditional Filipino snacks that is served accompanied by dinuguan (pork blood stew) or pancit. Originally made from ground rice. But this recipe, I was using all purpose flour instead. And it turned out to be fluffy and fine texture. Make it special by topping with slices of cheese. This is how to prepare:
Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2-1/2 tbsp baking powder=double acting
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 egg
- 2 cups water
- slices of cheese
- water for steaming
for the exact measurement I used the digital weighing scale
Cooking Procedure:
- Prepare steamer with water.
- prepared and greased molds
- In a large bowls, sift together the dry ingredients:
Flour
Baking powder
Sugar
Salt
- Mix the wet ingredients in another bowl
Egg
Milk
Water
Vanilla
- Mix all the ingredients well. Making sure there are no lumps. I was using a hand mixer for easy mixing
- Pour mixture into individual molds
- Arrange molds in the steamer. Top each puto with slices of cheese. Steam for about 15 minutes or until risen and firm to touch
- Remove from the steamer. Cool for a few minutes then unmold.
My finished product: Ready for delivery.
Thank you for making time reading my post. Hope I can help for those who would like to have a business and for snacks purposes also.
