Market Is Unremarkably Remarkable, Says Goldman Sachs

in #pyramidlast year

Goldman Sachs said the market is remarkable. The company's chief economist, Jan Hatzius, believes that the current bull market is as strong as any in history and that this flourishing period is likely to continue for some time.

The real question is how long this will last: Hatzius thinks we're close to the top in terms of price-to-earnings and price-to-book ratios. He also thinks there's a good chance this bull market will end soon, but only if there's a major economic shock.

The fact that the Fed has been so cautious about raising rates isn't going to help much either. Investors should focus on the central bank's next meeting on September 20, which could mean interest rates will be higher than expected at the time.
