Where exactly are stored images in Steemitimages.Com? Servers or steem-blockchain?steemCreated with Sketch.

Here below I autoquote myself from a previous post for a better understanding of what I'm talking about:

Yes that's it. You can avoid all the mess of firstly upload images on third party hosting services and then paste on Steemit the related links.

You can simply go over the targeted image (locally on your desktop saved or a remote one that you are viewing on the internet) with the mouse cursor, right-click on it and then click on the copy image or the simple copy option (notice I'm talking about the "copy image" or "copy" options and not the oder one... "copy link address"). Then in the Steemit edit form just make right-click and paste. The result is that the image is loaded in something that look like the Steemit images storing servers (or maybe in the steem blockchain? Please share this precious info in comments if you know something about that) and what you will obtain is an automated generated code with an image link to steemitimages.com, something like that: ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmR3XjQWYMcYBLh8atYfKo6dN7SLsv1gJsax/image.png)

I believe it's important enough to know the correct answer of this question.
