You are right but maybe it also means what we do today will have impact on the future and if we concentrate on the here and now we will create a pathway for the future. So what we do today has more impact on the future than what we do tomorrow what means also making a plan.
I agree with your reply, as future is decided by what we do today. And we should be very much focussed towards the goals which we want to achieve:)
