Yeah my friend. I can't agree more with You.
Sometimes I feel censoring this movies for kids would be an option, but then again, I ask myself "what if they become victims"? "who's gonna talk to them about it if I don't as a mother?"..
I'm glad your daughter didn't scream for Joy over the "action" in the movie, rather she was sober with the morals that came from the movie.
Its a good one @earthmother
Please I would have loved to hear how the story ended, what you told her and how it all turned out.
Thanks
Little house on the prairie is a tv series that ran when I was a child many many years ago. It was a family show. They broke alot of barriers, brought alot of things to awareness. Even the taboo subjects.
But the cartoons....the entertainment, making fun of, desensitized of these issues.... mentally brainwashing our kids... brainwashed us, our parents. It's insane. I encourage people to sit with their children, watch what they are watching. I am very strict at what comes into the house. We have no tv. We are very limited as to what we watch.
In that particular show, they end up saving the "indian" and the bounty hunter sees him in a different light after the "Indian" saves his life.
It is my hope to empower my daughter, to keep communication open and healthy. If anything should happen, it would be my hope that I will be there to help her through.
@earthmother, I very much agree with you.
But then I have a question. How about movies rated for adults (PG +18), would it be nice to draw the kids close or try not to scare them away when they come closer during such movies or you totally synchronize yourself and your choices to movies for kids so everyone can be carried along or what?
What's your take on that @earthmother
PG movies are referred to as "mommy movies" here. I am not a big movie watcher, so i wait until she is sound asleep and i use head phones. There is no reason for her to be subjected to those things until she is ready.
We generally watch new movies together.
:)
Hahahahaha.. That's a great suggestion tho.
But you know kids could be very inquisitive at times. How about when you are not around (whenever we parents are not around) and they get access to them???
I run a pretty tight ship. Lol
We are off grid, in the bush, and i home school. When she goes to friends houses, or family, they are very respectful. Not had any problems yet.
:)
