The Promise of Peace
Genesis 9:12-17
12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” 17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

I must admit that I do LOVE a good storm! I'm not fond of the destruction and chaos that can be caused by them but there's something truly awe inspiring about the power and fury of this natural world we live in. This is my reminder to you that not all storms are of the natural realm. Therefore the metaphor of the rainbow and the promise it represents can be utilized in all aspects of our lives.
I too face struggles and storms within. Maybe that's what has built my curiosity of rainbows, knowing there is a calm after the storm!
Whether you're a believer or not, I encourage each and every one of you to take a few moments and just look around you. We are so consumed with life, work, family, electronics, the latest and the greatest that we forget to see the beauty that lies all around us. Sometimes its only there for a moment.....SO DONT MISS IT!
And good luck finding the pot of gold at the end of this last one :)
Beautiful post! I love resting upon God's promises!
