The unfortunate baby rat

Tonight I would like to share some photography of one of the rodents, namely an unfortunate baby rat. I don't know why, but suddenly I found one of these poor baby rats lying on a piece of wood in my backyard. It was quite sad to see this baby rat injured on part of its body; I have no idea who could have hurt it.

What is quite surprising is why its mother is not seen around. I feel that this wounded part of the body was bitten by some kind of ants. This baby rat is still very young, as if it was just born not long ago. Both of its eyes have not yet opened. I cannot bear to see it. After I took some pictures of this unfortunate baby rat, I placed it in a safe place. Hopefully, its mother will come soon to take care of it again.
