A Boost to My Reading, New Library Opens at the Community Centre!

Great things are happening in our neighborhood! The community centre has just opened a brand-new library, and it’s already becoming a favorite spot for people of all ages.

Located right in the heart of the community centre, the library offers a welcoming, quiet space full of books, learning materials, and friendly faces. Whether you love mystery novels, children’s stories, self-help guides, or magazines, there’s something for everyone on the shelves.

The library was created with input from local residents, making it truly a community effort. From volunteering to donating books, neighbors came together to make this dream a reality. “We wanted a place where families could read, learn, and connect,” said Maria Lopez, a volunteer and parent of two. “Now we have it!”

Inside, you’ll find comfortable chairs, reading nooks for kids, and a small study area with free Wi-Fi and charging stations. There are also laptops available for public use—perfect for job seekers, students, or anyone needing to get online.

Best of all? Membership is completely free. Just sign up with your name and address, and you can borrow up to five books at a time for three weeks. Late fines have been eliminated to make the library more accessible to everyone.

The library isn’t just about books—it’s about building community. Weekly storytime for kids, book clubs for teens and adults, and educational workshops are already on the schedule. A computer basics class starts next month, and there are plans for guest authors and reading nights in the park during summer.

The library is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s closed on Sundays.
