RE: It begins: UK recession announced
Over the years I have been an active environmental campaigner.
These days though I am feeling my emphasis should be more on 'prepping' - in the widest sense. Doing all I can to insulate my family from changes ahead.
Self-reliance and resilience should be the cornerstones of what we do.
You and me both my friend. And now that I have a family of my own I feel this stronger than ever.
Thankfully I've been obsessed with survival skills since I was a child. We grow our own food now in the South of France and have a near-by water source with the ability to filter it. We also have some solar, compliments of all these solar related jobs I keep finding myself doing.
I shot this one in Indonesia a few years.
I like their products because they are compact and versatile.
Ultimately my family and I are training ourselves to be able to quickly move location and set up camp anywhere. This will become important when the masses get hungry.
As you say, prepping in the widest sense.
Getting PV is my next big goal. In fact that is what brought me to Steem - but that hasn't quite worked out yet.
Adaptability, and making the most of what you have, is key.
(The JouleStick looks neat - is the little PV sufficient to charge enough?)
I have always found it adequate to charge the torch, but suspect it would struggle to fully charge an ipad.
