PERSIMMONS, AKA SHARON FRUIT  ARE WONDERFUL FRUITS THAT TASTE GREAT IN SMOOTHIES . - ORIGINALLY  CULTIVATED IN THE FAR EAST  THEY HAVE NOW BECOME A GLOBAL FRUIT THAT PACKS A PUNCH WITH ITS HEALTH BENEFITS.

To avoid bitterness, the  paler  varieties should be  eaten only when very ripe, usually peeled.

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS?

A powerhouse of vitamin A  Vitamin C and high amounts of manganese, this colourful fruit certainly packs a punch of health benefits; an excellent source of fiber, with B-complex vitamins  present which can  aid your metabolic system; high in anti-oxidents, persimmons are  anti-inflammatory fruit, which is great for those of us that have those aches and pains as we age! .
