Gampong Blang flood emergency post

cooking to meet the needs of residents
The floods that struck our village and all of Aceh some time ago have left unforgettable memories. The sudden surge of water not only inundated homes but also brought thick mud that covered floors, walls, and even furniture. Many families lost their temporary homes, cooking tanks, and relied on aid from emergency posts set up by community members.
The flood emergency post in our village has become a beacon of hope for many families during this critical time. This is where urgent needs like cooking, eating, and rest are met as best as they can. Even though only one meal a day is available, gratitude is still palpable among the residents. In these limited circumstances, every bite of food is a great blessing. This is proof that togetherness and brotherhood are far stronger than any calamity that may arise.

atmosphere full of togetherness at the post
Every day, volunteers strive to cook using ingredients donated by the community, humanitarian organizations, and private donors. Despite the simple cooking equipment and limited ingredients, the food is still shared with sincerity with all affected residents. The aroma of food wafting through the atmosphere of the post symbolizes hope, that no matter how difficult the situation, we can still rise together.
Meanwhile, residents' homes are still far from habitable. Thick mud covers most of the floors and yards. Many furnishings, including cupboards, mattresses, kitchen utensils, and even important documents, could not be salvaged. Yet, despite the muddy and damaged conditions, residents rely on one thing: gratitude for being safe.

the rain is still falling and the spirit of mutual cooperation is burning even more
At the post, a sense of solidarity was palpable. Children gathered in a corner of the post, playing games while waiting for food. Parents chatted encouragingly, sharing stories of their experiences with the flood, and planning how to clean up their homes once the waters receded. There were no excessive complaints, only hopes and prayers for a speedy recovery.
This disaster is indeed difficult, but the emergency post has proven that our village community is never alone. Mutual cooperation, compassion, and concern from various parties have enabled all residents to survive this most difficult time. Even though we only have one meal a day, our gratitude never fades, because hope always remains as long as we support each other.
