Migration

Hello friends, how are you all? Seeing this 'migration' or expatriate life contest of the Recreational Steam Community, I thought, hey, this is the story of my own life! So I thought I would share my real experience with you.

Many of you know this. I am a Bangladeshi by birth. And I am proud of it. But for the past 10 years, I have been in Malaysia. Yes, friends, I had to migrate or migrate due to the demands of life. If you ask me why I came? To be honest, a middle-class family has some responsibilities. And I am a child of a middle-class family. I mainly set foot in this expatriate life to give my parents and younger siblings a good and secure future in the country. When I first came here ten years ago, it was very difficult. Leaving familiar paths, mother's cooking, and friends' chats in an unfamiliar country, I sometimes felt suffocated. But looking at the faces of my family, I endured everything with a closed mouth.

Like myself, many of my friends and relatives are now immigrants or expatriates in different parts of the world. The people I used to laugh and play with as a child, the ones I used to be with, are no longer with me. Some are in Saudi Arabia, some in Oman, some in Europe, and I am miserable in Malaysia. When I talk to them on Emu or WhatsApp during work, I see one thing in common among them, longing for the country. Everyone smiles and says, 'Bhai, I'm fine', but since I am an expatriate myself, I know how much loneliness and sufferingares hidden behind that smile. Which we expatriates can understand even if we don't want to.

My opinion on those who leave their homeland and stay abroad is very simple. They are true warriors. I won't call myself a warrior because if I raise myself, it will look bad. But friends, sometimes I think about one thing, sacrificing the most beautiful time of our youth, the joy of Eid, and family events, we sweat day and night in this land of exile just to bring a smile to our families' faces. Expatriates save money without eating themselves and send it back home. Do you know why so that their families are happy and joyful?

A wonderful thing has been said in today's context:t, "Being a tourist and an immigrant are completely different things." Brother, there is a huge difference between the two! A tourist comes to Malaysia for about a week. They stand in front of the KLCC Twin Towers and take beautiful pictures, wander around Genting Highlands, do shopping, and return home with joy. But for us, who are immigrants like me, Malaysia means continuous duty from morning to night, and calculating the amount of money we send back to the country at the end of the month. Tourists come to spend money, and we come to earn money by working hard. They see the dazzling beauty of this city, and we see the harsh reality of expatriation.

These ten years of living in Malaysia have taught me a lot. It has taught me to be alone, to adapt to the situation. Still, when I lie alone in my small room at night after work, my mind repeatedly wants to return to the land of Bangladesh. I go back to the family I left behind. When do I know when I will be able to return to their bosom again? When will I know when I will be able to return to my unfortunate mother? When do I know when I have the fortune to eat that delicious food from my mother's hands?

Finally, friends, I want one thing from all of you. Everyone, please pray for me. May I stay healthy and strong in this expatriate land and always keep my family happy. Today I am inviting three of my friends to participate in this contest: @username1, @ripon0630 @suboohi @josevas217 @solaymann @nainaztengra @frafiomatale, and they should also share their opinions.

May everyone be well and healthy. Thank you all.

¡Saludos amigo!🤗
