My DIY glass Cover

So for today's article, I will be sharing about my DIY glass cover.
So for weeks, I was looking for a tumbler or anything that can contain more than 200mL water for me to use as glass in the office.
I had been dehydrated for a long time, it's cold in the office because of the AC and I don't lien drinking water because the water dispenser has only cold and hot options; to acquire room temperature water, I had to mix cold and hot water but the taste is not as good as the water that did not go in high temp. Sometimes, I had to refill with cold water and leave it to turn into regular temperature.
I feel pain in my teeth whenever my mouth touches cold food so I don't really consume cold food often.
Another purpose of having a large water container is that I will be able to store large amount of water so I can drink continuously without refilling and drinking again to satisfy my thirst, have you ever drank and was not satisfied because you glass was too small and had to refil yet the time you drank the second time, it would no feel right?
Back when my husband had a Christmas party, his gift was exchanged with a set of four canisters and I asked him if I could take one to work and he agreed, of course he can't say no because he loves me, haha.
But whenever I put cold water in it, it moisten and gets the documents near it wet so I materialized the idea that I once saw in pinterest.
Actually, I free handed the glass cover because I already know how to make the base from magic circle to increasing double crochets and stop when the diameter that I needed was achieved.
At first just used tissue paper but the thing is that it slides easily in my hand when the canister is wet from the moisture. Though it has a cover but what I am afraid most is break the glass and damage some things that aren't mine.
The crocheted glass covers help in me to have a tight and sure grip on the glass and it will hold off the moisture and it would easily evaporate it.
It was a coaster that I used to thinks of but it cannot cover the sides and I am glad I was able to see some projects in Pinterest before and I have some ideas in store.
Here are the images taken during the making, too bad I don't usually take selfies back then only now I realized the importance of selfies to commemorate those good old times ad to have an evidence to yourself that you have once made something beautiful and useful.
It was very fun making the glass cover. I think it was easy since I only made round stitches and the stitch is pretty simple; first I made a magic ring, to those who do crochet, you are familiar with this, right? to those who don't yet wanted to try crochet, you might need to search what magic ring is.
After the magic ring, I chained 3 and added 7 double crochets and to complete the first round, I slipped stitched on the third chain, the one I made after the magic ring. To increase in diameter,I added 2 double crochets in each double crochets( the chain 3 is considered as 1 double crochet) and ending with 16. The third round, I added one double crochet and 2 in a double crochet alternately and ended with 24. and on the last round for the base, I added 2 double crochet in each double crochet and 2 in a double crochet respectively to get the total of 32 double crochets and only t hen I made a double crochet each tor the body. I only made it about 4.5 inches just enough to hold the glass without getting my hands wet and for the yarn to absorb water and enough for me to peek what was inside.
Now it was it was even more fun drinking with my colorful glass cover.
