Walk In Him

Colossians 2:6-12

6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the
Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the
faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein
with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy
and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after
the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead
bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of
all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the
circumcision made without hands, in putting off the
body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of
Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are
risen with him through the faith of the operation of
God, who hath raised him from the dead.

If we have received Christ, we should be living like Him. Not to be caught up in the philosophy and deceit of the world. The spirit of God knows the needs of the people that they are rooted in and resting in Christ. Preachers and teachers of the word should be aware of these facts so that they can help believers form a proper relationship with Christ.

Matthew 7:22-23

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have
we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have
cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful
works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew
you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

God is concerned with our inward thoughts and feelings toward Him and Christ that lead to faithful actions. We tend to be more concerned with outward appearances - that we are showing our 'faith' by practicing religious vigor instead of an inward solid foundation walking everyday in Christ. There is no other foundation, but Christ - not buddha or muhammed or any other philosophy. To be rooted in Christ means we are abounding in Christ with great thanksgiving no matter our present circumstance. Mature Christians are not angry, bitter or pouters.

Matthew 6:33

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added
unto you.

Sometimes we have been cheated by the enemy and so we must seek the grace of God through communion, prayer and relationship building with Him. We can do this with thoughtful prayer, study of the word of God and communing with other believers. Do not seek peace by way of other worldly philosophies, practices and thoughts - the peace of the world is no peace at all because it is a fallen world. Put your full focus on Christ so walking in Him will come by His grace to perfect your soul from the inside out.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness
in them that perish; because they received not the
love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong
delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the
truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

We are living in a time of strong delusion when many are deceived so you should know that to walk in Christ is truly the narrow road. Do not be overcome by worldly desires to be like the Joneses, but be different, be Christ-like with joy and thanksgiving right to the gates of eternity.
