IS HALF OF FAITH
FAJR REMINDER: …IS HALF OF FAITH

Brethren! It’s good to be clean, which is that you keep your body, mind, clothes and surrounding free from dirt at all time. Allah says (in Surah Al-Baqarah [2] verse 222): “Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance (i.e. purify their hearts from sins) and loves those who purify themselves (by taking a bath; cleaning and washing thoroughly their private parts, bodies, for their prayers, etc.).” Indeed, cleanliness is an integral element in Islam; proper Wudu’ (Ablution), use of Miswak (toothbrush), cutting of nails and care of hidden parts, et cetera. The Prophet (SallaLlahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) said (as recorded in Sahih Muslim): “Cleanliness is half of ‘Eeman (faith).”
It’s embarrassing that there are Muslims who dress anyhow to the Masjid (not minding whether clean or not) but pay special attention to their outfits when going to work or for (worldly) social functions. They ensure it’s the best. And more pathetic, there are others who are always dirty, regardless of where they are going and even when at home. Please note, the personality of a person is a summation of his or her attitude towards everything. Your good and neat outlook has a ripple effort on those who see you. So, always ensure cleanliness. I beseech Allah to purify us from all dirt. (Aameen)
