"Even if the earth trembles we must sing!"

This phrase is a portion of a well-known choir among Christians. At first glance we can consider this phrase as a true expression of faith, trust, peace. But how much do we apply it in our lives?

Taking this phrase to practice in everyday life, we can consider it as a true expression of madness. It is illogical to think that in the midst of an earthquake we sing praises and shouts of jubilation. But I'll tell you something that sometimes we overlook: true faith is illogical! The natural mind of the human being cannot understand this kind of radical trust.

The word of God tells us that "the natural man does not perceive the things that are of the spirit of God, for He is madness, and he cannot understand them, because they are to be spiritually discerned" (1cor 2:14). But it also tells us that "we (the Children of God) have not received the spirit of the world but the spirit that comes from God, that we may understand what by his grace he has bestowed on us." 1cor. 2:12.

God likes us to trust him when we pass through the difficult moments of our lives. It's easy to trust God when everything goes well. But true faith is demonstrated and strengthened in the midst of the circumstances of pain and uncertainty. When it seems that the world is against us and that everything is lost, we can always be sure that God has control over every situation, and that he arranges all things for the good of those who love him. (Romans 8:28) We must understand that the Lord is pleased with those who fear him, in those who trust in his great Love (Psalm 147:11) because without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6).

The chorus that I mentioned at the beginning of the reflection, inspired by the first verses of Psalm 46, says:

God is our refuge, our strength,
Our soon help in tribulation.
Although the mountains are passed to the sea,
even if the earth trembles we must sing!.

When we trust in God and praise him in the face of hardship, he supports us, strengthens our character and manifests his glory.

How good it is to praise you sir ... without you LORD we are nothing, even if the fig tree does not flower, we will not stop praising you my God
