Christianity: Questions That Are Unanswered

in #religion9 years ago (edited)

So I was raised Southern Baptist and am now a Nordic Pagan.... I get a lot of questions regarding my religion and I have simple answers to them... Now the questions I have for Christianity have yet to have answers. So here are my questions and why I have opinions on the answers.

1.) Suicide is the only sin that is unforgivable. : So in the bible it states 1 John 3:20 : "in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things." If god knows every decision we are going to make then he would know you're going to commit suicide. I highly doubt he would create us all and purposely put us in a path of personal death... Just saying.

2.) Circumcision: So in the old testament it stated you needed to circumcise your sons for them to enter heaven Genesis 17:10-14 - This [is] my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. Half of our population isnt circumcised.... So what now that they have an extra flap of skin they are going to burn in hell?

3.) Divorce: Mathew 5: 31-32 : It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. So if this is true everyone has committed adultery.... and thus you will be stoned... This is ridiculous. And I've met more than a handful of divorced women in church who remarried. GASP

I have a ton more questions but these are the top three.... Oh wait here's number 4.) Why the hell do you get to pick and choose what "laws" to follow? Shellfish, two types of linens, Gay marriage, etc.... Honestly all the laws in the bible were, especially leviticus, null and void when Jesus died on the cross. When you quote Leviticus as "God's law" and say they are rules we must follow because they are what "god" or "Jesus" wants us to do what you're really saying, as a christian, is that Christ's sacrifice on the cross was invalid. He died in vain because you believe we are still beholden to the old laws. You are saying that god and his sons plan for your salvation wasn't good enough for you....

Let me know your thoughts on the subject below! I would love to hear your thoughts. :D
