What I thought religion to be was to make people cool hearted, because in my religion Christianity, no matter how you ridicule it, no one will attack you.

Yes. You said in Islam, people can attack, if you provoke them by ridiculing their religion.
So am now saying that, if a religion sees God has supreme, no one will attack anyone for the sake of religion even though provoked because God does not need man to fight his battles for him.

Well, you also felt provoked to agree with this pictorial joke above and thus took part in ridiculing Muslims, didn't you? So I could assume that you don't seem to believe that God can fight his battles without people.
I think it would be safest to always reckon with the imperfection of other people.
It is like road traffic. It is better if I do not insist on my right of way, but continue to drive carefully, even if someone takes my right of way away. That is how I avoided an accident with my mind in mind. Which is better than insisting on the law, when it was my common sense that worked much better than any law.
Otherwise: yes, why not let God or the universe rule? :)
Your analogy does not fit this case, but let me just leave it here.
