One of Africa' s most sought-after poachers has been eaten by lions

Surely, many people will consider this story as a good example of so-called poetic justice. The South African authorities had been tracking a particularly active poacher for some time. Their main prey were lions. The last ones I'd killed last week. The dismembered bodies of the animals had appeared in Kruger Park, and there were several minions missing, including their heads. According to the authorities, their skulls are said to have medicinal properties, and the poacher sold them to traffickers who used them to prepare traditional remedies.

But now, the authorities have made another macabre discovery. They found the remains of the poacher in the park itself. Everything seems to indicate that he was torn apart by a group of lions he was stalking. The animals devoured his body almost entirely, and the head of man was the only part that remained intact. They also found his rifle and ammunition in the area.

The bones and various organs of lions are highly sought-after to prepare traditional remedies for curses. But lately they are also being illegally exported to other parts of the world (especially China) to replace the tiger bones that were used in some traditional Eastern medicine remedies.
