REVIEW MOVIE :#7 SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

in #review7 years ago (edited)

Born in 2008 with the backdrop of India, Slumdog Millionaire filmed for British director Danny Boyle eight prestigious Oscars and became a phenomenon when it was released. released worldwide in 2009.

**The film tells the story of a young man from Mumbai's Juhu ghetto when he joined the "Who's a millionaire" TV program in India? He correctly answered the questions that caused people to ask a big question: Is this Genius or Fraudster?

With a two-hour duration, each scene does not seem to take on a whole lot of detail, making the viewer completely absorbed and entering the main character (Jamal) since he was a slum dweller. when he became a millionaire. Speaking of the film, viewers can say that they found in it a lesson in the effort to rise, the power of love, or the belief in life. In this article, let's look at the five deep messages that "slum millionaire" has left in the hearts of viewers.
1.Knowledge not only comes from books and school

The beginning of the movie is that Jamal was interrogated by two police officers for not believing that he really answered all the questions. They think that you have someone to remind you, have a chip under your skin, or somehow cheated successfully.

Their argument is simply: "Professors, doctors, lawyers, ordinary knowledge people have never won over 60,000 rupees. He has reached 10 million rupees. How can a slum dweller know the answer? "They argue that they need to go to school, get a degree, be in a position to be able to answer all questions. field in the program "Who is a millionaire?".

However, even in their questions inherent answers: Professors, doctors, lawyers, ordinary knowledge people have never won over 60,000 rupees. But a slum dweller does. Because knowledge is what is left over after forgetting, learning a lot in school, reading a lot of books, but still remember how much, that is knowledge.

Jamal's knowledge does not come from paid lessons, books and books, his knowledge comes from the miserable experiences of slum dwellings, jumping into the dung hole, when witnessing his dear mother being beaten to death for religious contradictions, is the time when the beggar is stolen ... what is the correct answer, Jamal I wish I had never known the answer, if only I could have forgotten them.

A lifelong person with all sorts of qualifications is not as knowledgeable as one who has never lived a peaceful day. A tall, broad-minded man who is unlikely to be delicate, sensitive, and intelligent to remember all around him with a bright-eyed boy living in a slum. Knowledge is what can be used, and used in the right place.

2. Know what you know and what you do not know

Coming to the second question on the show, Jamal made people surprised when he had to use the "Ask the audience" assistance, while with that question, "a 5 year old kid can also answer." But the point here is that, when the host reads the question, he does not hesitate to choose the right help. Do not think, do not wonder, do not re-memorize the memory, just like when he answered excellent questions remaining: Jamal know what I know, and what I do not know.

3.Integrity can overcome lies

One of the most unexpected and dramatic details in Slumdog Millionaire was when the host gave Jamal the wrong answer to a question he did not know at all.

Throughout the movie, since Jamal was a kid until he was a teenager, the viewer always felt he was a very honest and somewhat foolish, confident man. But when Jamal resolutely chose a different answer to the presenter's suggestion at the break, he was shocked and held his breath, as the viewer did not really know that the host at the other end. really want to help you like he said no And Jamal was right again.

The fact of his surprise that even the host is intriguing and self-confident also embarrassed, because he said that his words "sincerity" why not fool the weak guy .

But Jamal knows the truth, and his intuition is the same. The underbelly under any cover, can never reach the trust of a person with pure and pure heart.

4. Working evil can never be happy

Alongside the main character is Jamal, Jamal's brother Salim is also a character who leaves a lot of impression in the hearts of the viewers, even many who say that Salim is missing, "slum millionaire" will not so attractive.

In the movie, Salim is a wise, crafty, cold-blooded and ready to do everything to get the money but to run out of love for his only brother - perhaps that's the human part And finally, before you choose your own death, Salim has done well for others.

Throughout the movie, Salim has done all sorts of evil to the other, from the beginning with the desire to change lives, escape poverty, care for her brother, but later on, dirty, no crime does not do, whether the money has been, but the conscience was stained blood and tears of many people.

However, the nature of Salim is perhaps not entirely a bad person, which is easy to see, because: Salim not happy. Fighting, killing, serving the strong, bullying the weak, day after day taking place in revenge and hiding the shadow of others, Salim realizes he gradually lost himself. It shows in three main details near the end of the film, the present scene, when Salim, before leaving the house to meet his master, bumps his head and tells his Lord, "Please forgive me, I know you have caused many sins "; It was when Salim gave the key to Latika's escape - the girl his beloved brother had loved since childhood, the same person he had repeatedly harmed - and said, "You have caused so many sins, please forgive me "; And finally, when Salim drowned himself in a bathtub full of money, waiting for his evil master to come in, shoot him and let his minions shoot him, he closed his eyes and smiled and said, "God's great." Perhaps that was the happiest moment in his life, liberating himself after liberating the innocent, the moment he dared admit to God his sins and asked to be given this body to him. The moment he decided he had lived blindly for money and would now die in money, but a free death.

The end of Salim's life may have been different, if he had not committed suicide, he would have been happier to do his life again, be responsible for his wrongdoing and keep alive. By being too weak and stuck, even though it is a great sin and his brother will suffer, Salim still uses death to finish things off, leaving a miserable character to fit in. blamed in the hearts of viewers.

5.Destiny is there to exist

After watching the film, many people think that the biggest meaning of the film is "to overcome fate," "to win fate," or "decide yourself to fate." But ask some questions: If the fate is not allowed, with 4 times lost Latika from a child until growing up, Jamal can finally find her or not? If fate is not allowed, the last question that determines whether Jamal will become a billionaire, can he possibly guess randomly while still not knowing the answer and no longer having any help? If fate is not allowed, will Jamal be included in the "Who's a Millionaire" program? And if fate does not allow, what Jamal thought unintentionally in his childhood and adolescence, now turns into answers that can turn into money and change the whole thing. your life All are due to fate.

Perhaps, personality, thinking, decisions, everything in the characters in the film is also destined to set, to be able to evolve according to the flow of fate. For Jamal, he understood this better than anyone else in his statement to Latika at the end of the film: "It's our destiny."

The lesson learned from the film is familiar, but never wrong: live honestly, humble and hard to learn, know what you know and know you have nothing, then life is difficult .. In the future, also receive the happy.. ^^🍀

Thank you. I love this movie and also love Indian cinema. The movie is not only about the poor but also about the poverty of some who live in a slum. 😢

Slumdog Millionaire dives headfirst into something greater than a subculture - the enormous unchronicled culture of India's mega-slums - and achieves even more sweeping impact. I would say that this is Danny Boyle's finest since "Trainspotting." In fact, it's the best British/Indian gameshow-based romance of the millennium. Thanks for sharing, upvoted and resteemed :)
