Fascinating. It was a long review, but how else can a long book like this be reviewed. You took your time to even compare the author ith other historiams and that aside made the review even more interesting.
I have some of the texts you mentioned, but have not read them yet (long waiting list, Adams, Johnson), i did read Paul Auster's New York Trilogy back in 2001.
I think that any biography of any politician, even the minor players, if well told and connected to other issues and personalities going on at their time, is a must read.
