Bible quote: The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land. Proverbs 10:30
The Bible teaches with its wisdom that just as there are two paths for man, there are also two different destinies. And this is a typical teaching of the sapiential literature that is not only present in the Book of Proverbs but also in the Book of Psalms, for example. And this is a truth that the Israelites in ancient times, with their periods of glory and destruction, were able to verify throughout their history as a nation. And so the Book of Proverbs teaches the following quote for spiritual meditation: "The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land" Proverbs 10:30.
The land belongs to the uprights, and they will remain firmly in it, like the vineyard that bears good fruit, says with other words, the Book of Proverbs, and this is a teaching that comes from the Law of Moses in the Bible. The prophet Moses in the Book of Deuteronomy expressed that the possession of the land is a blessing for the Israelites devoted to God and his law, whereas abandoning the law implied the loss of attachment to the land.
And for the Israelites who lived as nomads guided by Moses during their journey through the Sinai desert, possessing the land had a special connotation: the secure life. Therefore, a question arises: can a person be happy without any certainty about tomorrow or the future? or when it is claimed that the past was better than today.
Wisdom as a science in the Bible does not seek to impose fear but to explain that behind the apparent chaos of things there is a spiritual order established by God, and that in front of this order, the best path to choose is the path of the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), true intelligence lies in this choice; everything else is foolishness. Because, as the Book of Psalms says: "The LORD protects everyone who follows him, but the wicked follow a road that leads to ruin" Psalm 1:6. The sapiential literature invites, advises, and teaches to reflect so that men are not deceived by appearances, the false happiness, and find true happiness, which is linked to the divine and to what is most perfect.
