Ripple not so reliable (yet?)

So it just happened to me right now. While XRP was correcting. I wanted to sell high, buy low.

But I couldn't transfer XRP from ToastWallet to Bitstamp.

It was saying wrong amount or congested network. Well the amount was correct, but after like 15 minutes transaction was successful. So it was a congested network cos everyone was panicking.

So my question is... if this congestion is happening now, what will happen if Ripple will be 10x bigger.

And how it can fix itself? By making more validation nodes?

So you guys tell me what your thoughts are...
