Rohit Sharma's 33rd ODI century and Virat Kohli's impeccable fifty helped India avoid a whitewash against Australia in the third ODI. Rohit and Kohli won by nine wickets with 69 balls to spare after replying to 236 runs at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Rohit Sharma played a brilliant unbeaten innings of 121 runs off 125 balls. On the other hand, Virat Kohli provided him with worthy company by remaining unbeaten on 74 runs off 81 balls.The two stars' unbroken 168-run stand for the second wicket enthralled the Sydney crowd and ensured an easy victory for India.

Rohit Sharma touched several milestones during this innings. This was his ninth ODI century against Australia.With this, he equaled homegrown legend Sachin Tendulkar's record of 9 centuries against the Indians and surpassed Virat Kohli (8).

It is worth noting that Rohit took only 49 innings to achieve this feat, whereas Sachin took 70 innings.
Rohit also set a new record for most ODI centuries (6) by a visiting batsman on Australian soil, surpassing Kohli (5) and Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara (5).This was Rohit's 50th international century across all formats.

Virat Kohli also scored his 75th ODI fifty in this match and surpassed Kumar Sangakkara to become the second-highest run-scorer in the history of ODI cricket.
