ROOSTERS Abound!!

I am traveling for work today and am at the Columbia, SC airport.

I saw this sculpture and just had to grab a shot.

I really like ROOSTERS and I over the years have collected a number of pieces of art and bric brac related to them.

I finally started to wonder why. As a kid I had a couple of run ins with ROOSTERS. I realize now that I identify with them because they are the original definition of "plucky."

I am also plucky. Roosters are very determined creatures. Also as I am.

They live life in the moment. They protect what is theirs. Have lots of love to spread around. And not surprisingly, so do I.

Some religions venerate the Rooster and it has been linked to various gods of death as in a link or guide to afterlife from what I understand.

So I say, "here's to the mighty roosters of the world! Long may they reign in the barnyard!"
