Taking it easy during the smog times
or at least that is the excuse that our mostly overweight group of members likes to use during the times of year where the pollution can be pretty bad because of crop burning.
Normally our runs would be around 6km and have some semblance of hills in it but last week's run was only around 4km and was pretty damn flat. At least we got out into the nature a bit and there were virtually zero roads involved in our event this Thursday.

If you look closely you can see something that looks like a road in the middle there but that is just farming access and as is usual we do not actually have permission to be here.
These days we aren’t moving very fast because the healthier members of our group that actually do some running are mostly not in the city at the moment so these days our “runs” are actually just jungle walks followed by drinking beer.
Whatever! They say that socializing is good for mental health even if beer is mixed in so I look our meetups as mental-health days. I know I certainly feel that way about them.

Even though a good half of our crew isn’t here at the moment we are still enjoying relatively good participation but it doesn’t seem worth the while to make these trails complicated and super long until there are more people back here. This will happen sometime around June and this has never been something I understood seeing as how that is the start of the hottest time of year that we ever have to endure here. I guess people just have their own schedule!

We still try to keep things as silly as possible though and we haven’t increased our prices for participation even though it seems as though the excuse made by almost every business in town is that fuel is more expensive now but I have a vehicle and I haven’t noticed this to be true. I think they are just making that up in order to get away with charging more.
While the numbers are definitely down as far as participation is concerned we are still hosting 3 events minimum per week. Monday is men only, and Thursday and Saturday are mixed runs. You do not need to be a member to participate but once you do come along with us one day, I bet you want to go again!
On On!
