Russia's history of invincibility and the current situation part 1
Do not take Paul Craig Roberts too seriously.
Russia itslef is not any less Neo-Nazi and fascist than US supported Ukrainian regime. Russia and Putin are responsible to greater attrocities than those comitted by US and both Clintons, including the Clinton body count in which I believe, but why no one talks about the Putin body count?
There are moderate rebels in Syria, they are called the FSA, and there is no shame is supporting them.
Even the Islamic State, for all of its attrocities, which I mostly do not support, should be supported, because instead of thinking that Assad can not be overthrown because an evil strong dictator supports him, the ruling class does what I would have done if I were instead of them, which is let those fighting for these evil dictators return home in caskets.
It turned out so bad for those whom pushed Russia that the Germans killed more Soviet soldiers in WW2 than the Soviets killed Germans, the Finns killed more Soviets than the Soviets killed Finns, Japan defeated Russia in the 1904-1905 war between them, and the west together with Turkey defeated Russia in the Crimean war in the 1850s. Even in Napoleon's case, the Russians burned their own ground and not France's ground, and the French invaded Russia, while the opposite never happened to this day.
The mighty USSR also lost the Afghanistan war in the 1980s, and then collapsed a few years after retreating from Afghanistan, while the US never collapsed.
Now the US surrounds Russia, and not the opposite.
I hope it was a good enough history lesson for you, and I hope someone tells it to Paul Craig Roberts too, because censorship is too hard on comments where he agrees to be interviewed at, typical for agents and messengers of tyranical regimes.
Currently, US population outnumbers Russia's 2:1, and US allies outnumber Russia's by any measure unless one counts China or India as an ally of Russia, but while China has more than 1 conflict with US and its regional allies, it has no interest in the US going bankcrupt and defaulting on its debt.
US criminal monetary and regulatory policies, and Chinese criminal leadership which allowed these policies to succeed, made China captive of US.
While Clinton's most favorable state status granted to China during 1990s destroyed industry outside of China, Chinese participation in it enslaved Chinese people in exchange for US debt, so similar to Nixon's agreement with Saudia over 20 years earlier, the US benefitted twice:
In Saudia's case, US benefitted from increased demand for its Dollars which allowed it to inflate its amount of Dollars on the expense of the rest of the world, while having an additional increase of demand for USD due to Saudia's financing of US debt.
In short, it made Saudi oil cheap for US, while initially expensive for the rest of the world.
In China's case, US benefitted from cheap products made in China which made its Dollars initially worth more, while like in Saudia's case, the US enjoyed Chinese financing by the Chinese investing their surplus in US debt.
Some ignorant MMT advocates claim that no one finances the US, since it issues its own currency, but the value due to demand for this currency, namely the USD, comes from agreements with these countries.
Had it not been for such agreements, USD would have either gone to zero quicker than it does, or American people would have faced austerity bigger than they experience, regardless of whether their current situation should or should not be considered as austerity in absolute terms.
