The CFTC will discuss the cryptocurrency this week
In accordance with the recently published agenda (https://goo.gl/oBQ8Ya), on the technological Advisory Council of the Commission on trade commodity futures (CFTC) in the technology of commodity futures contracts will be discussed technology #blockchain and cryptocurrency.
The agenda of the meeting says that the first two groups will focus on blockchain and its potential applications for the derivatives market.
In discussion will take part Jennifer PEVE, Executive Director of the Fund Depository trust and clearing Corporation (DTCC) business development and strategy in the FINTECH sector; Charlie Cooper, managing Director of R3; and Dan Busk, Deputy Director of Department of control over market CFTC (DMO).
The paper will focus on "the potential impact of blockchain technology on capital market infrastructure and regulatory reporting".
The meeting was scheduled during the resumption of discussions on regulation in the crypto space. A week ago, the Chairman CFTC John. Christopher Giancarlo has testified before a Subcommittee of the Senate banking, housing and urban Affairs about the rules that can play an important role in the future for the cryptocurrency markets. Giancarlo at this meeting will give the opening remarks along with commissioners Brian Quintana and Rotinom Behnamou.
This event can be a catalyst for growth in the market, if the discussion is in a positive vein. The previous impetus for the "bulls" was a meeting of the us Senate.
