The main obstacle to creating vaccines in tablets is their instability in the human gastrointestinal tract. The usual vaccines simply do not have the chance to cause any response of the immune system, they are simply simply digested, looking at the constituent parts.

And doctors from Britain decided to create synthetic vaccines using D-amino acids. These are mirror reflections of natural L-amino acids, which stand all the way through the stomach and are excreted by the kidneys. In this case, vaccines with right-sided proteins induce a response of the immune system.

Experiments are still on mice and influenza viruses. The results are encouraging.

Why is this development important?
