Space Weather Daily Update for July 8, 2018
Sunspots, Weather, Cosmic Dust, Go Outside
The last 24 hours on the Earth facing disc shows no sunspots, no plasma instability, no nothing really at all. The solar wind has stabilized and the Planetary K-index has dropped down off of the charts. There's not even an incoming coronal hole to worry about right now, so we shouldn't see too many magnitude 6+ earthquakes of volcanic eruptions for the next couple of days. There is a large bright spot coming around onto the Earth facing-disc and behind it is the next coronal hole. In about a day or so, we'll see whether this bright spot can keep it together against the Earth Facing Quiet and the solar minimum.
The tropical depression off the coast of the Carolinas in now Tropical Storm Chris NOAA Tracker.
Tropical Storm Beryl NOAA Tracker is still make its way through the Lesser Antilles.

- 5.9 magnitude earthquake NE of L'Esperance Rock, New Zealand
- Kilauea, Hawaii - orange
- Cleveland, Alaska - orange/watch
- Krakatau, Indonesia - erupting (4 out of 5)
Space Objects
No new Near-Earth Objects(NEO) added to the database.
Other News
- Milky Way type dust particles discovered in a galaxy 11 billion light years from Earth. The universe needs a good dusting.
- It’s official - spending time outside is good for you. I'm sure this will be changed by another study in 10 years.
- Southwest monsoon onset dates over Malaysia and associated climatological characteristics. It rains a lot on Malaysia. Thanks, scientists.
