Illusion of Control
Reading a book by James Montier I found an interesting concept and I want to share it with you.
"The human illusion of control"
He tells us that it has been discovered that people are willing to pay 4 times the price of a lottery ticket when they have the flexibility to choose the numbers on the ticket. If we use simple mathematical probabilities, there are no changes in the result between the numbers of random tickets and those chosen by oneself. But the illusion of control when selecting ticket numbers makes the lottery buyer think he has a better chance of winning because he / she personally selected the numbers on the ticket.
Pretty curious fact!
