RE: Heavewaves: Fake news?

in #science7 years ago (edited)

Unfortunately, it is getting scary already and still some governments deny that humanity has something to do with it. China, the US, and Australia are some examples of politics towards global warming not against it :(

However, there are some good examples but still, the transition to an eco-friendly industry is too slow.

Sort:

China is actually one of the greatest contributors to renewable energy, investing multiple times more than the US is, for example, and spending billions of dollars making something like 30% of its entire land mass forested.

They still piss around with coal etc, of course, but they're a lot more savvy to it than the current US leadership...Either way, too slow indeed!

This is some great news. I wasn't aware of that. Actually, when I wrote my comment I hoped that you will say that I am wrong (or partly wrong). Even a small step could make a huge difference when China is concerned. After all, it is one of the biggest (or the biggest?) manufacturers on Earth and even the tiniest precaution could make an impact on slowing down the process of global warming.

China traditionally under-promises and then over-performs - It makes them look good. So yeah they're doing a lot of good in this area but still not enough, only some smaller countries like Costa Rica are killin' it. But this heatwave around the world may change attitudes, we can hope!
