All artificial intelligence models created so far need to be previously "trained" before being of any use. This involves introducing huge amounts of data into the system related to the specific task that we want the model we are training to perform once the training process is completed.

In a very crude example, if we want an AI model to be able to distinguish between a dog and a cat, we have to introduce thousands of photographs in all possible situations and refine the results emitted by the model until it perfectly identifies to dogs and cats in any situation.

This may impress us a lot but any human and even some animals are capable of learning by imitation, that is, simply observing how another does it without having to be trained and this is what Google does with its new artificial intelligence model that is capable of learn from a "master" by imitating his actions.
